About Angel Fund

The communities of Isle Madame and Louisdale have a long history of stepping up to support each other when one of our own are faced with hardship or illness. Local fundraising events, as well as participation in national campaign events are/were the ways we gave to those in need. However, questions about national campaign fundraisers and the rate of return for local residents were regularly in question.

The Angel Fund emerged out of an expressed interest from the community to support those in need locally; to find a way where funds raised went directly back to the community who helped to raise it. Chuck Boudreau took the idea from his fiancée, Alana Paon and ran with it. As the sitting MLA of the day, Alana assisted many patients and families who had no where to turn for support when they needed it most. Alana suggested a direction for a local organization and Chuck ran with it. Since its inception, many volunteers have stepped forward to serve on the Board and volunteer their time to support the society's activities.
One single Facebook post asking what the community thought of the idea and an overwhelming response led to the formation of the Angel Fund. Founded in January, 2019, the Pay It Forward - Angel Fund, operating now as the Angel Fund, began fundraising and then in January, 2020 the organization began to launch its universal financial support for patients facing life-threatening illnesses, understanding the cost of receiving treatments can be a financial hardship for patients.

The Board of Directors of the Angel Fund manages its business in a respectful and confidential manner, respecting the privacy of those who make a request for funding. The Board of Directors has been approved for Charitable Tax Status which will now allow the organization to issue tax receipts to those who make donations to the organization.

The Angel Fund serves the purpose of supporting patients, within its means, who face life-threatening illnesses.
